“TOY STORY,” “TOY STORY 2,” and “TOY STORY 3” Unveiled For The First Time Ever on Blu-ray 3D™ November 1, 2011

Consumers are invited to experience Disney•Pixar's “Toy Story,” “Toy Story 2” and “Toy Story 3” in an all-new way!  All three groundbreaking films will be unveiled in stunning Blu-ray 3D for the home, allowing fans to go back inside the toy box and enjoy their favorite characters in a whole new dimension.

Film Synopsis:              “TOY STORY”
Set in a world where toys come to life when people are not present, meet two rival toys – Woody, a pull-string talking cowboy, and Buzz Lightyear, a superhero space action-figure. The comically-mismatched duo eventually learn to put aside their differences when circumstances separate them from their owner, Andy, and they find themselves on a hilarious adventure-filled mission where the only way they can survive is to form an uneasy alliance.

“TOY STORY 2”
While Andy is away at cowboy camp, Woody is toynapped by Al McWhiggin, a greedy collector who needs Andy's favorite toy to complete his “Woody’s Roundup” collection. Together with Jessie, Bullseye and the Prospector, Woody is on his way to amuseum where he'll spend the rest of his life behind glass. It's up to Buzz, Mr. Potato Head, Hamm, Rex and Slinky Dog to rescue their friend and remind him what being a toy is all about.

“TOY STORY 3”
Andy is preparing to depart for college, leaving his loyal toys troubled about their uncertain future. When a mix-up lands them at Sunnyside Daycare, the untamed tots with their sticky little fingers do not play nice, so it’s all for one and one for all as plans for the great escape get underway. More than a few new faces – some plastic, some plush – join the adventure, including Barbie’s counterpart, Ken, a thespian hedgehog named Mr. Pricklepants, and a strawberry-scented teddy bear called Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear.

UK Screenwriter Claims Pixar Stole His Idea for CARS!

For the full story click the title above!

Courtesy of Animation Magazine...
A British screenwriter has filed a lawsuit claiming Pixar stole the idea for Cars from screenplays he shopped around to studios in the early 1990s, and is seeking an injunction to stop the June 24 release of Cars 2, writes The Hollywood Reporter.

The suit was filed by Jake Mandeville-Anthony in U.S. District Court and claims he write a three-part screenplay about real-life car racer Michael Own Perkins and a materials for an animated feature called Cars. Mandeville-Anthony’s materials for his version of Cars included a treatment, sample screenplay, descriptions of 46 animated car characters, 10 character sketches and a marketing and merchandise plan, the Reporter writes.

The copyright infringement and breach of contract complaint says copies of these works were sent to multiple production companies, including Disney and Lucasfilm, and cites numerous similarities between Mandeville-Anthony’s work and Pixar’s 2006 feature Cars, which grossed more than $450 million at the worldwide box office.

The Reporter also writes that the writer and Disney/Pixar have been engaged in a semi-private dispute in the United Kingdom, where a recent judgement in the case is under seal.
Pixar has not commented on the case

Click the Above Title to read the Full Story....

Story courtesy of Animation Magazine:

It’s official: The Cars direct-to-video spinoff is ready to take flight.

DisneyToon Studios has announced Planes, a full-length CG-animated movie set for release in spring 2013.

The movie will introduce a cast of daredevil plans from across the globe, all inspired by the world of Pixar’s Cars.

“We had such a great time exploring the world of Cars over the course of two films, so it seemed only natural for us to see where our imaginations would take us in a film where planes were the main characters,” says John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios. “By expanding the Cars world, Planes gave us a whole new set of fun-filled situations and a great opportunity to introduce some fantastic new characters. The team at DisneyToon Studios has done such an amazing job creating a heartfelt story filled with great comedy, adventure, and emotion. I know audiences are going to love taking off into the wild blue yonder with these daredevil characters, as they experience a whole new kind of animated adventure.”

DisneyToon is a division of Walt Disney Animation and is based in Burbank. It has produced numerous TV series and direct-to-video features, including the TinkerBell series of DVD features.
